Senior Tech Assist is looking for a reliable, patient and practical IT support technician to help seniors in their homes across the Sunshine Coast.
This role would involve visiting clients at home and assisting with everyday technology issues. Most clients are seniors who need calm, friendly, plain-English support with their devices.
This opportunity may suit someone who is already working in IT, semi-retired, working part-time, or looking for flexible extra work.
About the role
You would be attending in-home appointments on behalf of Senior Tech Assist, helping clients with common technology problems such as:
- Wi-Fi and internet connection issues
- Computer and laptop troubleshooting
- Mobile phone help, including iPhone and Android
- Tablet support
- Printer and scanner issues
- Connecting devices to Wi-Fi
- General hardware and software problems
- Helping clients understand how to use their technology more confidently
This is not corporate IT work. It is practical, hands-on support for seniors who often need patience, reassurance and clear explanations.
Areas of particular interest
We are especially interested in technicians based in or near:
- Northern Sunshine Coast / Noosa / Tewantin area
- Caloundra area
- Glass House Mountains / hinterland areas
- Surrounding Sunshine Coast suburbs
Work may be available across the broader Sunshine Coast depending on bookings.
Work arrangement
This could be structured as either:
- Contractor work, or
- Casual employment
The final arrangement can be discussed depending on your situation and suitability.
Payment will be job-based, with a simple payment structure per completed appointment/task. Some mileage or travel allowance will also be paid, depending on the distance travelled.
Please note that the role is expected to start slowly as jobs come in and then build over time as demand grows. This would suit someone flexible who is not relying on immediate full-time hours.

- Patient, friendly and good with people
- Comfortable working with seniors
- Able to explain technology in plain English
- Reliable and punctual
- Confident troubleshooting Wi-Fi, computers, phones and printers
- Comfortable visiting clients in their homes
- Well presented and trustworthy
- Based on the Sunshine Coast or nearby
Requirements
- Good practical IT troubleshooting skills
- Own reliable vehicle
- Current driver’s licence
- Mobile phone
- ABN if working as a contractor
- Police check, or willingness to obtain one
- Good communication skills
